Reclaimed from the white oak of whiskey and wine barrels
We make these wood planks for making cremation urns. But with some creativity you could use them to decorate a casket by making corners or lugs (i.e. shields).
This is the sort of wood that can only be made one way. This cannot be imitated or faked. The years of aging whiskey and/or wine (and sometimes both) imparts coloring of the wood that is unmatched by any other process. These planks are laminated and re-sawn to 1/2 inch thickness--suitable for cremation urns and casket accessories.
This wood can be brittle and, at 1/2 inch thickness, is not suitable for structural components. Laminate this material to a good plywood base if you need to make a structural project.
