This type of arm hinges on a patented 3-hole pattern and can be connected to a simple single adapter or a pair of arms can be used with a lug. The arm is secured to the outside of a wood casket with single or double lug or bracket. The arm is wrapped around an oval dowel handle made from wood or steel. This arm is available in two sizes including a 1x1-1/4 oval and a 1x1-3/8 oval. Both are compatible with our wooden oval dowel handles, with the smaller of the two making for a a very tight fit with our oval wooden dowels. The 1x1-3/8 arm and adapter is a little easier to fit with our oval dowels. • Lug, Single, Tall Art Deco, Adapter

Lug, Single, Tall Art Deco, Adapter

Decorative metal casket handle adapters were common on American caskets built in the 1920s through the 1950s. Consolidation, off-shore production, and cost-cutting measures from the 1960s to present day have resulted in the loss of many of these decorative metal corners. We ventured to northwest neighborhoods of Old Chicago just off West Fullerton Avenue--an historical area home to dozens of legacy machine shops, as well as furniture and clothing manufacturers. We found the original location where these parts were stamped from American steel on equipment that has been operating since the 1920s. This casket adapter is the real deal. An American original. True vintage not stamped since 1948. This adapter is compatible with any adapter style swing arm. Designed to fasten to the outside wall of the casket with two wood screws.
