Coffin Handle, Casket Handle, Solid Hardwood, Vintage Styling
Good ol' fashioned hardwood handles. They just don't make 'em like this anymore. That's why we made them. Handcrafted from solid hardwood We use mostly Ash, but on occasion we might have a set of 8 made from oak, or butternut, but difficult for the untrained eye to discern the difference from Ash. While we designed them for an Old World style casket or coffin, these solid wood handles are large enough and suitable as door pulls on a barn door, garden gate, tool shed or garage door. The design is inspired by the bow tie shapes of door pulls and handles from the Old World. This very same type of handle may have appeared on a Carriage House door in 16th century England. In fact, the handle that inspired these was a turn-of-the-century solid oak door handle from a silo room door inside a dairy barn. The handle has a 3/8-inch threaded bolt inserted in its construction. The bolt has 2 inches protruding for fastening to a heavy door. Each handle includes a pair of matching nuts & washers. These handles can be left unfinished or can be finished with an oil or water based finish of your choice. Dimensions Width: 12 in. Height: 3-7/8 in. Projection: 2-1/2 in. Gap: 1-1/2 in. Thread length: 1-1/2 in. Weight: 14 oz. Material: Hardwood Ash, Oak, or Butternut Origin: Made in Wisconsin, USA
