Cutting Board Oil

Ingredients

Palm fruit oil, refined almond oil, grapefruit seed oil, rice bran wax, and castor wax.

Approximate Coverage

• 2 oz.: approximately 7 square feet
• 4 oz.: approximately 15 square feet
• 8 oz.: approximately 30 square feet

The number of coats needed depends on how much the wood absorbs. Typically, one or two coats is recommended. Add more coats gradually until you achieve the desired level of shine and protection.

How to Apply

1. Ensure the wood surface is clean and free of dirt or debris. If sanding is needed, sand to the desired smoothness, up to 320 grit.
2. Shake the bottle before use. For application, the manufacturer recommends an ambient room temperature of 70°F or higher.
3. Pour a small amount onto the surface. A little goes a long way!
4. Rub the oil across the surface, working it into the pores of the wood. End grain will absorb oil more readily.
5. Let the oil sit for at least 10–15 minutes and no longer than 24 hours.
6. Buff with a clean, lint-free cloth to remove excess and create a sheen.

Storage and Care

Store in a cool, dark place and shake well before use, especially after storage. The oil may thicken in cold conditions. Place the bottle in warm water for a few minutes to restore its original consistency. Discard after 3 years.
