Odorless Mineral Spirits

RMP Co Finishes®’ Odorless Mineral Spirits is a high-grade, petroleum-based solvent designed for thinning and cleanup without the harsh fumes of traditional paint thinners. Use it to thin paints, oils, tung oil, and varnishes, or to clean brushes, tools, and sticky residues after a project.

Directions for Use

As an Oil Paint Thinner

When you need smoother strokes or easier blending, Odorless Mineral Spirits can be mixed with oil paints to improve their consistency.

• Follow the paint manufacturer’s recommended ratio of thinner to paint.
• Add mineral spirits slowly and mix thoroughly to avoid over-thinning.
• Do not use with water-based or latex paints.
• Do not mix with sealants such as lacquer or shellac.

For Surface Preparation

• Ensure the surface is free of dust and loose debris.
• Allow the surface to dry completely.
• Pour a small amount of mineral spirits into a separate container for control.
• Dip a clean rag into the solvent and test on a hidden area to check compatibility.
• Once confirmed, clean the entire surface using smooth, even strokes. Avoid heavy rubbing or pressure.
• Replace the rag if it collects too much dirt or grime.

Storage and Important Use Notes

Keep the container tightly sealed in a cool, dry place away from heat or open flames. Always store out of reach of children and pets.

This product is designed for oil-based paints, varnishes, and finishes only. When used to thin oils such as Pure Tung Oil, the mixture is not safe for surfaces that will come into contact with food.
